Hello, I'm Carmen

I've created a Dream Doula VIllage –

a community of doulas to support families

at all different stages in fertility,

pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.

The Dream Doula Village also supports doulas seeking mentorship and trainings to

expand their tool-bag of tips and tricks

to help families.

My Story

I'm a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, somatic massage therapist, Reiki healer and Kundalini Women’s prenatal/postpartum and family yoga teacher in Los Angeles, currently in training as a STREAM (Scar Tissue Remediation Education and Management) practitioner who has participated in some 500 births.

I've been doing bodywork for 30 years and I'm sought after by those seeking support throughout the entire birth process – from clearing obstructions to fertility, to preparing the body during pregnancy, to aiding during labor and birth to closing the body after birth using rebozo techniques.

While trauma can occur during childbirth for the baby and/or the mother, it can be processed for mama and baby in a compassionate manner that is geared toward healing and bodily release of traumatic scars. I utilize the tools of somatic massage therapy, meditation and yoga with various modalities to customize an experience for each mama and family.

My Ayurvedic 42-Day Postpartum Program has evolved into a collection of ancient wisdom from different cultures including Bengkung Belly Binding and Latin American tradition “Closing of the Bones” initiated and trained by Miriam Avalos and Naoli Vinaver. My postpartum program has turned into the “Four Trimesters” after giving birth, not just limited to the “fourth trimester.” There is a lot of healing that goes on for the whole year after giving birth.

In order to help make the unknown known, I've created a Dream Doula VIllage – a community of doulas to support families at all different stages in fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. The Dream Doula Village also supports doulas seeking mentorship and trainings to expand their tool-bag of tips and tricks to help families.

In the first chapter of my life she was a teenage soap star on ABC-TV’s All My Children for five years living a lifetime as Hillary Wilson Georgia Martin Wallingford spending much of her time there in unrequited love with “Tad the Cad!” After that, I was classically trained in London and went on to do numerous film and TV roles. Among them was a guest star role on the TV show ER where she gave birth. That experience in turn gave birth to my doula career where I seek to “undo” all the myths that are perpetuated by the portrayal of birth on TV and film!
